Duty

Standard

Our Cornerstone Value of the term is Duty. We have explored what it means to be dutiful through drama. We have created still images showing duty as well as short skits showing duty. Here are a few of our still images. We hope you enjoy seeing how we show duty.20140217_142727(0)

Cambodia Day!

Standard

This term we have been learning about Cambodia.
Anna’s friend, Mels, came to visit us and taught us how to make some traditional Cambodian food.
First, we had to grate some carrot.
Then, we had to put some rice noodles, carrot and spinach into separate bowls.
Next, we got a bowl of warm water and we dipped on piece of rice paper into it until it went soft.
Then, we put the rice paper onto a tea towel and in the middle we laid the carrot, noodles and spinach.
We rolled up the rice paper and folded in the sides to make a small roll.
We had to make some dipping sauce to with the Cambodian rolls. To do this we mixed fish sauce, garlic, rice vinegar and sweet chilli sauce together.

Water Containers

Standard

This term, our topic is water conservation. We learned about different containers that are used to hold water and thought we would create our own. Anna challenged us to use only newspaper, cello-tape and a plastic bag. First, we came up with lots of different ideas about how we would make our water container. Next, we developed and refined one particular idea. At last we could make our containers. We made it a competition to see whose could hold the most water after carrying it across the tennis courts.
